Como asesores de vivienda en Housing & Education Alliance (HEA), en el año 2007 vimos el desarrollo de una tendencia al aumentar el número de clientes que necesitaban orientación sobre la prevención de la ejecución hipotecaria. Después del Día de la Raza del año 2007, volvimos a nuestras oficinas y encontramos más de 100 correos de voz de personas con dificultades económicas que buscaban ayuda y alivio ante una posible ejecución hipotecaria. En ese momento, ayudábamos principalmente a quienes iban a comprar por primera vez, no obstante, con frecuencia, ayudamos a clientes que habían comprado una casa y que posteriormente tropezaron con dificultades.
